for the school students of classes 6th to 12th of India

About LEP 2047

Despite the progressive reforms introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, A few critical dimensions of education still remains overlooked — Legal Education in practical and learned sense, Financial literacy as a life skill and  entrepreneurship for being self-reliant in future among school students.

After years of research and execution of pilot project of this program for the past five years Counsels Cottage seeks to implement a comprehensive, generous and flagship initiative namely “Legal Education Program 2047” aimed at enhancing Legal Education, Financial Literacy and promoting Entrepreneurship at grassroot level, targeting students of classes 6th to 12th in both Government and private schools.

The program will be implemented through a comprehensive and accessible learning model, which includes reading materials, recorded lectures, online and offline sessions, seminars, and competitions. These activities will focus on key themes such as constitutional values, legal rights and responsibilities, cyber safety, consumer protection, financial literacy, digital banking awareness, and entrepreneurial mindset development.

  • Target classes: Students of Classes 6th, 7th, 8th 9th,10th,11th, 12th & Droppers of Madhya Pradesh State studying in Government & Private schools.
  • Target Beneficiaries Number: “One Lac Fifty Students” (1,50,000) in one academic year
  • Target Schools: All Schools of Madhya Pradesh

  • Understanding gender roles and stereotypes.
  • Anti-bullying laws in schools.
  • Child protection laws (POCSO Act).

Module 6: Women & Law

  • Laws against domestic violence, harassment (Nirbhaya Act, POSH Act).
  • Rights of women & helpline agencies.

Module 7: Legal Consequences of Juvenile Crimes

  • Juvenile Justice Act – rights, responsibilities, and rehabilitation.

Module 8: Cyber Safety & Social Media

  • Basics of the IT Act.
  • Cyberbullying, online threats, and consequences.

Module 9: Right to Information (RTI) Laws

  • Importance of transparency & accountability.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR Support)

.To achieve the scale and impact envisioned under this initiative, the organization seeks Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support from responsible corporate partner keeping it under the purview of CSR activity of Schedule VII of Companies Act, 2013 (Section 135).

The CSR partnership will enable the development of educational materials, technological infrastructure, training programs, Office expenses, outreach activities, Salaries to the trainers and large-scale awareness campaigns required to effectively implement the program.

The Legal Education Program 2047 aims to create a transformative educational movement that will empower the youth with knowledge of law, finance, and entrepreneurship, thereby contributing to the vision of building an informed, responsible, and self-reliant India by the year 2047.

NEP 2020: Such Informal education initiative aligns with the NEP’s vision of fostering holistic education emphasizing inclusive, and multidisciplinary learning and empowering students with the necessary life skills to excel in their personal and professional lives.

SDG GOALS: This initiative aligns with India’s commitment to Goal 4 (SDG 4) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all by 2030.
